Auckland in Sports

Auckland is a city that is surrounded by clear blue waters and because of this, it is one of the top destinations for sailing. In fact, Auckland is also known as the City of Sails. This year, the Waitakere World Junior Badminton Championships is going to be held in this city. The said championship is going to be held in Trusts Stadium which has been a venue to many important events like concerts, trade shows and sports.

I’m pretty sure that every Auckland Accommodation provider is full of guests that anticipate the said event right now. My aunt booked her room a couple of months ago. According to her, she does not mind paying more for Hotels in Auckland that are near the Trusts Stadium. I’m not really a fan of badminton but sailing definitely looks exciting. I guess I already have the perfect spot to go to on my next summer holiday. I hope I can get good deals from Auckland Hotels so I can save some bucks.

Prints for All

There are businesses that use prints on envelops, postcards, notepads, shirts and even magnets for their advertising. You don’t have to spend a lot of money for this type of promotion and you can easily have you prints made through online printing companies. It seems that this type of promotion is a cost effective way of marketing a business that’s why many do it. Though this method of marketing is effective for businesses, it does not mean that it can only be used for such purpose.

One idea that came into my mind is using prints for souvenirs and giveaways. If you have a party or a small gathering like birthdays, weddings, christening and Halloween parties, giving personalized prints to your guests would be a good idea. I haven’t really done that but I’m planning to do it this coming Halloween. Anyway, if you are looking for a good online printing company, I came across AreaPrinting.com just last week. Their website looks very professional and it has great features like instant design upload.

the Honeymoon

The family is having a reunion this coming weekend. This is to announce the engagement of my cousin Gary and Lisa. My Aunt Nitz who is from Canada just arrived this morning and she was more excited than we are. She said that she is planning to pay for the newly wed’s honeymoon expenses. Well, I think that’s a great gift idea. We could have thought of that if we could afford it. Aunt Nitz asked us for if we have any idea if my cousin would like to visit Cape Town and to be honest, we don’t.

Anyway, who wouldn’t want a free honeymoon trip? Whether it’s a just a trip within the country or a trip to a paradise far away, I’ll still take it. I’m not getting married any time soon but I sure hope that my Aunt will also think of giving me such gift. I’m really excited for my brother but I will try my best not to say anything to him until his wedding day. Tomorrow we are going to talk to a travel agent that my mom knows and try to get a little discount for my Aunts gift.

Cousin’s Nuptial

My cousin Gary is getting married this coming December and our entire family is very excited. We met his future bride Lisa last Saturday and she is just the sweetest thing. She and Gary are just going to be perfect together. My mom and I agreed that we should give them a mailbox for their house. We went to a shop and saw many mailboxes of different kinds and we really had a hard time looking for the perfect one.

A sales lady assisted us and showed us both residential and commercial mailboxes. Well, we don’t really know much about mailboxes so we needed someone to guide us through our shopping. After a few minutes of choosing our gift, we finally saw the one that stoop up among all the residential mailboxes. We got a Galvanized Steel Post Mounted Mailbox by Ecco. This particular one has a copper finish that gives it a classic look. My mom and I had our hearts in choosing the gift for my cousin and I hope he and her bride will love it.

Sharing is Good

Roomster

Rents for rooms and apartments are high in some places. If you are a self supporting student or an average earner employee a good option is to look for roommates or flatmates. Sharing a room or an apartment with a fellow student could be fun, exciting and more importantly, good for your budget.

Roomster.net is the best place to look for roommates whether you are in the US, Canada or the UK. With almost 10 million current listings on their program, Roomster.net is definitely the largest resource of fellow room and apartment seekers on the internet.

Amateur Videos

For a long time now, I’ve been a constant visitor and viewer in YouTube. I would spend many hours in a day just watching the videos that its members uploaded. I would even watch videos on my laptop while working… Talk about being multitasking. What I like about these videos is that their like reality on video. Real people and not artists make them. Recently, I also decided to make my own video and upload it there. My first step is to get a Digital Camcorder.

I have already looked into many camcorders but I haven’t really got to choose one. I will make an article about these choices as I carefully decide on what to get. My first option is the Panasonic PV-GS320 Mini DV Digital Camcorder. According to what I’ve read, this camcorder is perfect for people who are interested in shooting and collecting their own amateur video. Sounds like perfect camera to me. It’s sold at a pretty descent price and I like the specs of it. I think this is one of my top choices for now.

Car Talk

Jef is one of my colleagues and he recently bought a car. His car was actually pre-owned but it is still in great shape. Sometimes I get to ride with him on my way home because he lives a few kilometers away from my house. I saw some honda motorcycles pictures in his car and it seems that he is also a part time agent for a motorcycle shop. Anyway, we often talk about cars and he regularly gives me useful tips that I can apply if I ever get my own car in the future. To be honest I don’t really know how to drive yet but it sounds really easy to learn. He promised to teach me how to drive once I’ve bought my own car.

According to Jef, buying a brand new car isn’t the wisest investment that you’ll ever make. In fact, it is not an investment at all because cars depreciate rapidly. He says that it’s better to acquire a pre-owned car and spend a little money to refurnish it and upgrade some of its parts. A disadvantage of having a pre-owned car is that there will definitely small problems in it that you will have to get fixed every once in a while. However, if you are getting a new car, you will only have problems after a couple of year from its acquisition. Getting a new car could be a waste of money and I wouldn’t really want to buy one unless I’m filthy rich.
