An Unfortunate Event

This day was started by a series of knocks by Marvin on Jeff’s door. His voice was not too loud but it was loud enough to wake people in the house. Marvin’s hands were shaking and he looks as if he just accidentally killed someone. He began to speak in a shaking voice and he told us that someone broke into our house last night and they got his laptop and 2 of his Cheap Mobile Phones. He left his stuff in the living room and when he woke up; he found out that they were all missing.

We are living in a secured subdivision and we didn’t expect this to happen. It seems that the robber passed through the window to get in the house. This was a big loss for Marvin and I can understand what he feels for what happened. His laptop is worth more that it’s buying price because this is where Marvin gets all his income. Well, I guess it’s true what people say that shit happens… I just hope this kind of shit will not happen to anyone of us.

Love at First Sight

For all of my life, I have believed that love is just a state of mind, a matter of decision and not a feeling. However, my friend Mark believes the opposite especially when he met her lifetime partner Cristina. Mark met Cristina in an inkjet cartridges shop when he was asked by his boss in an emergency situation. It’s really funny how he described their first meeting. He told me about the star in his eyes and the bells that he heard.

Every time Mark tells me about their love story I can help but give him a laugh. However, it makes me wonder if love at first sight is real. If it is, why hasn’t it happened to me? Am I required to believe it before it could happen to me? Though I am not a believer of this myth, I agree that it would be really great to experience it. Well, I think it will take more than Mark’s love story to make me believe that feeling true love at a glance is possible.

Dedication

Even before the holidays take place, my plans and schedules are already definite. I’m really time conscious and I like to make a time schedule and religiously follow it. My mom always teases me that my company should give me a glass award for being so dedicated to my job. Well, I guess that’s just my attitude in general and there’s nothing special about my job. I don’t think that this is a case of obsessive-compulsive disorder though or at least I don’t like to think that it is.

Work is a serious matter for me and you will never see me miss a deadline. Because of this, my boss loves me a lot and always promises me a promotion which never happens. It’s really sad that I’m not getting a promotion just because there are higher positions being vacated in the company. Anyway, I love what I do and I will keep on doing it as long as I feel good about it. I don’t intend to receive employee awards or too much recognition for every job well done.

Christmas Day

Just like the past years, we are scheduled to visit my grandparents in their house on Christmas day. We have been doing this since I was a child and nothing has changed even if my sister and I already grown ups. My grandparents are living in a remote area and bringing a cellular phone there because there are no cellular towers near the place. Well, the lighter side it that their place is peaceful, quiet and relaxing unlike the city which is always busy and noisy.

We are going to stay there for a couple of days because there is going to be a feast on the next couple of days. During this feast, people get together and organize some activities for kids and adults alike. There will also be a parade of colorful costumes and body painted people. This is another colorful tradition that I really love seeing. What’s bad about this event is that my diet is going to be ruined! I have been doing a weight loss program which is I doubt will work because of this.

Misa del Gallo

For more than two years now, I’ve been living away from my family because of my work. I often see my mom and dad but since my sister is also working in a different city, we seldom see the whole family together. Christmas is the only time of year when the whole family gets together. We usually celebrate this event through going to the church and praying. The cathedral in the city will opens its Wood Entry Doors and conduct a midnight mass to welcome Christmas each year.

Going to a midnight mass is a tradition that we never failed to follow even when I was a child. We prefer to welcome Christmas inside the church and praying instead of just eating at home. After the mass, that is the time that we eat our Christmas feast and exchange gifts. Exchanging gifts is the part I love the most because I really love surprises. Last year, my sister gave me a nice wallet that I’ve always wanted so this year, I’m returning the favor and I will give her a handbag that she wishes to have.

Usually novices prefer to start with hostgator. A few know names like godaddy. To create a niche for itself, startlogic needs to work a lot more.

Small World

Joan is a good friend of mine in my college days and I just bumped into her in the supermarket just this morning. After almost ten years, I finally got to see her. It was just her lunch break so we had to go to their office to continue our conversation. Their office was so amazing because they have a TANDBERG Video Conferencing System which I usually just see in movies. The moment that we entered their office I already felt that they are using the most advanced technologies in communication.

Anyway, Joan told me that she already expected that I would be amazed with their office. We continued our chat while having some coffee and while her secretary disturbs her for some paper works every once in a while. We agreed to see together this weekend and perhaps have some tea in her house. We used to do this when we were in college and it would be great to do this again. Seeing an old friend again is definitely fun. We are living in a small world and you just can’t tell when you will meet your old friends again.

Holiday Gifts - Baby

The holiday season is approaching really fast and coming up with some gift ideas this early will avoid the holiday rush. I know that most of us could still be busy with our works and the anticipation could mess up with your hectic schedule. Anyway, you have nothing to fear because I’m here to share some gift ideas to you. Christmas is for kids and I bet there are kids in your family or friends’ family that you would like to share some gifts with. Children, especially babies are more sensitive so taking extra care in giving gifts is a must.

When it comes to gifts for children, I always go to Baby-Wise.com because they are one of the largest shops that specialize for baby products. Whether you are looking for clothes, toys or accessories, you are sure to always find what you are looking for. Still don’t have a gift idea for the new baby in the family? Try the Ergo baby carrier. This product will be appreciated not only by the baby who will receive the gift but also his parents. This will support the baby while allowing the parent to carry the baby with less physical stress.

The Door Opens

After being single for six months, I’ve finally decided to start dating again. Jeff promised to bring me a really nice girl for a date and her name is Jen. To be honest, I’m a bit excited and nervous at the same time. I have a bad history with first dates and that’s really sad. We all know that there are no second chances for first impressions. Anyway, I did not make any special preparations for this date because I don’t want to expect too much from it. I just hope everything stays normal.

I got a dozen of red roses from a flower shop near our house and I’d be picking it up at around five in the afternoon just before the shop closes. We are going to have a double date with Jeff and his girlfriend so that we can avoid feeling the pressure of our first date. According to Jeff, Jen is a nice girl who is currently taking up her degree in education. She’s taking up history as her major because it’s her favorite subject since her grade school. I hope these few things that I know about her can help me get a good flow of conversation with her.

Run For Your Life!

Traveling is one of my favorite form recreations. I spend good amount of money on it and waste a lot of time just thinking where to go next. Earlier today, I had some time to reminisce about my past travel experiences. I had one of the best activities experienced when I got to visit Madrid of Spain last summer. I usually run during mornings to maintain a good health so when I went there, my interest was in their event called the “Running with the Bulls”. The event was known to the world and experiencing one is really something.

There were a lot of other people who visited Madrid just to see the event. If you take a look around, you’ll get the impression that almost every country in the world has its representatives to see this event. I was one of the guys who insanely went in the middle of the road and have the bulls run after you. It does look easy on videos but definitely not in real life. Just imagine a bull that is more than a thousand pound running after you with his pointed horns. If you participate in this event you will realize that you are literally running for your life.

Best Friend’s Baby

Sheila is my best friend for eight years now. Over those years, we’ve been through a lot of things and our friendship has been tested for many times. She is more on a rebel type of person and I’m completely of the opposite. It’s funny how our friendship made a lot of people scratching their heads. Anyway, Sheila has an early marriage last year and she is having her first baby by the beginning of next month. We are already making plans for her baby like where would she go for college. For me, Gibbs Melville location is the best learning environment for a student.

Sheila going to have a baby girl and her name will be Trisha. I don’t really know how Sheila did come up with that name but it seems ok. Sheila’s husband, Henny, is coming home from Singapore to be with her to welcome their baby in this world. It’s really great to see that my best friend finally grew up and handles such responsibility well. She used to be a stubborn, spoiled brat who thinks that she can get anything that she wants. Now that she is having a baby everything suddenly changed in a positive way.
